The labeling process… was a lot more involved than you could imagine! We finally announced our winery and launched our website thinking our labels would be printed within a few days. We waited patiently for our labels to be approved and printed. In order for us to label our wine, we have to get each front and back label approved by the TTB (Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau). It took a bit longer, I mean much longer than we had planned. The government is very particular about what you put on alcohol labels; who would have thought? After many emails and changes later we finally had all of the labels approved!
Now it was time to print the labels! You might assume this was a simple process. Just send a PDF to print out the label we want; but the coding of our labels kept embedding wrong when it was sent to the printing press. I felt frustrated thinking, “Will our bottles ever be ready to sell?” After some phone calls and the nice staff at Nacci Printing helping us, we figured out the embedding issue. They were printed Friday afternoon and we were FINALLY ready to sell! Thank Goodness!
It was now Saturday, Matt and I were very excited to announce we were able to sell our wines! The posts were made and the orders started to come in. We’d like to make a special shout out to Scott McCurley for being our VERY first customer! We were so overjoyed thinking we did it! We had this dream of having our own winery one day and here we are… living our dream with our 3 beautiful children. Whitetail Vineyards and Winery was officially here, providing a future for us, the community, and our growing family. Now, our sites are set on a new goal; our own store front where the community can come to relax, drink, listen/play music and make memories with the ones they love. Once again, thank you to everyone who helped us get here and thank you to our valued customers. We couldn’t do this without you. Cheers to all of us and what the future holds!
