Today was the day we’ve been waiting for, for years. Matt and I were finally going to bottle our first wine! The shirts were made, the wine was ready, the equipment was set up, now all we needed was some people to help us! The team included Matthew, Karen O’Connell, Jennifer Iovino, and myself. We had Matt from Matthew Bertsch Photography come out to record video and take pictures.
This small team was able to bottle over 1,000 bottles of wine. That includes: 264 bottles of Landot Noir, 277 of Rattlesnake Red, 275 bottles of Riesling, and 274 bottles of Tranquility. Not so shabby for our first bottling. We had to wait to bottle Hakuna Catawba and Valvin Sunset, because it was time to switch back to Mom and Dad mode. Hailey and Ronan woke up from their naps and Declan was coming home from school soon.
On a later date we will bottle the remaining wines and our labels weren’t quite ready yet. Labels will be a story for another day. Overall, the 1st day of bottling was a huge success. We all celebrated this monumental moment and had a glass of wine. Cheers to us!
